- Kizul from IRC gave me the idea to use a off-black color as a substitute for pure black, so I made a new master palette to help me take advantage of this.

- Wrote the themes for caves and the world map, so I've got all the songs I need for the first demo.

- My song upload on CP now includes an actual midi file!

- Scripted the skills system. Things like "targetting" and "counterattack" are now working.

- Redesigned the battle display. Moved the menu to the bottom of the screen so it doesn't get in the way of enemy sprites. And then moved the stats to the left of the screen for balance.

Wrote a custom textbox script for showing one text character at a time, like in Dragon Quest games. It'll be even better once I find a good "blipblipblip" sound effect for it. Just throwing that out there so people can tell me what an idiot I am for scripting from scratch something that could be done much more easily with default OHR features ( Read more... )

- Parents are home over break and hijacking my laptop, so I decided to just let them have it for the holidays and switch over to using their laptop instead.

- Apparently, MIDIs not only sound different on different laptops, they also play *at different speeds*.

- I feel like an idiot for ever trying to sync up MIDIs with cutscenes.

- Finished the new tutorial, meaning I'm back exactly where I was before.

- And now I want to change the name of my game. I should've just called it 'RMSephy's Game with Custom Battle System 2010' to begin with.

Starting over was easier than I thought. Maybe I don't hate myself so much after all. Though it was easy mostly because I had the old scripts to fall back on for spare parts ( Read more... )
